In Short

I’m a Dartmoor based photographer and filmmaker who specialises in the creation of inspiring photographs and video content of Dartmoor and the south west of England.   I use photography to share my passion for the great outdoors and my goal is to create images and videos to create a sense of wonder and excitement about the landscape and wilderness we all share.

I want my experiences as a landscape photographer to inspire photographers and non-photographers alike and so I share my photography life on YouTube.  On my channel you’ll find me talking about the photographic process, the locations I visit, the photography books I read but most importantly the passion I have for landscape photography.

A Brief History

Looking back, the desire to be outdoors started as a child growing up in the highlands of Scotland where I was surrounded by some of the most spectacular scenery in the world.  However, it wasn't until I got my first digital camera 15 years ago that I started to appreciate how amazing the landscape around me was and that I could share it with the world.  It was at this point that I decided to become a landscape photographer.

These days you'll find me wandering Dartmoor or exploring the Cornish coast, or occasionally I'll be back in the homeland walking in the highlands of Scotland.  As you might imagine I often see some of the most dramatic landscapes in the UK and I am driven to photograph and film them.  That drive often means early mornings or long days, but armed with a camera, a flask of coffee and a real sense of adventure there is no other place I would rather be.  My passion for these locations is at the heart of my landscape photography and the videos I produce.

My Photography

If I were to define my photographic style, I’m what you might call a classic or traditional landscape photographer.  My photography is very much influenced by my local area, so I shoot a lot of open views, moorland, and seascapes.  Though I typically like my photographs to have lots of contrast and colour, I take a light hand to image editing.  I want my photographs to be exciting, but genuine.  Most of all I want them to inspire people to explore the great outdoors.
