After a full on night of rock and roll with Europe and Black Star Riders last week, I was expecting a complete change of pace with GoGo Penguin. I was back at the Exeter Phoenix and there was an large, eager crowd to see the jazz trio from Manchester.

The music was perfectly delivered and the crowd of jazz lovers were enjoying everything GoGo Penguin had to offer. It was a challenging shoot for me though. Lighting can vary greatly from venue to venue, and even between acts in the same venue. As the music was relatively laid back the lighting was set to match the mood of the music. Strong blue and red lighting is always a challenge for photographers, but I got some good shots of the band....
