Beautiful Days Festival - 19th to 21st August 2016
Beautiful Days
Beautiful Days is one probably one of the biggest festivals in the South West and it's only a few miles from my doorstep. So when I was asked by my friends over at MusicMuso to photograph the festival I jumped at the chance.
When I first arrived on the Friday evening I was taken back by the sheer size of the event and the happy vibe from the crowd was contagious. I immediately asked myself why I hadn't attended before! So while I noted that I really must attend one year as a punter, my priority was to take photographs and capture the spirit of this wonderful, family friendly festival.
Over the the three days of the festival I had no end of opportunities to shoot some brilliant live acts. It was a busy few days and I barely had time to stop as I walked from stage to stage, but that's half the fun to be honest. It's not just the musicians that make the even but the crowd and I met some awesome people on my walks between stages.
So this blog post is a celebration of Beautiful Days, the musicians and the crowd so please go ahead and enjoy some of my photographic highlights from this epic festival!

Rapha Ghetti at Exeter Phoenix with Annie Rew Shaw, HER, and Stella Martyr - 22/01/2016
I last saw Rapha Ghetti at the Exeter Phoenix back in December 2014 while they were supporting the legendary Grandmaster Flash. It was a cracking gig and I remember Rapha Ghetti well so I was looking forward to shooting them again. If you want to see some images from that last gig, check out my blog post from the night.
This time around though Rapha Ghetti were the headline act so together my friends from MusicMuso I braved a chilly January evening and headed off to the Exeter Phoenix.
It was a quality evening of music so lets take a look at some of my images.
Annie Rew Shaw
First up was the very talented Annie Rew Shaw who played on a beautiful set.

It was yet another great night of music at the Exeter Phoenix and it offered plenty of shooting opportunities. If January is anything to go by, then 2016 is going to be a good year!
If you are interested in what I've got coming up in 2016 check out My Set List page.
Starting this year, I will also be posting on Instagram, so why not check out my Instagram pages by clicking here.
Of course I will still be active on all my other social channels including Facebook and Twitter.
I'll see you all again soon on The Unplugged Blog!
Grandmaster Flash
It's not often you get to photograph a living musical legend like Grandmaster Flash, but that is exactly what I was doing at the Exeter Phoenix last night. Arriving with Steve from MusicMuso we soon found that it was going to be a very busy night. Over 6 hours of music between the bar area and the main arena.
Plenty of people starting arriving early and DJ Louie Louie got everyone into the party atmosphere.

Later on in the bar Rusticate kicked things up a bit more.

It wasn't just DJs on last night and through in the main area were local acoustic / hip-hop band Rapha Ghetti.

And finally, Grandmaster Flash, pioneer hip-hop DJ.

Grandmaster Flash got himself fully involved with the crowd and worked them up to a frenzy! It was an awesome night of music and a great opportunity to photograph one of hip-hops finest DJs. Expect a full gig write up on MusicMuso very soon.
Sadly, that was my last assignment for 2014, but what a way to finish. I am however very much looking forward to a break over Christmas and New Year. I'll still need to do a few tasks like sort out next years gig schedule. It's looking busy already and I'll post up all my events here so hopefully see you at an event in 2015!
See you next year on the the Unplugged blog.
